DR COMMON HOUSE
Ground breaking Spring 2013, expected completion date Winter 2014.
An 8,500 square foot building designed to accommodate Dancing Rabbit's growing need for community space, this building will host a great room for community-wide social events and meetings, a commercial kitchen and daily dining hall for 30 people, a community library, DR office, and host multiple social spaces, shared hygenie facilities, and rental office space for businesses and organizations.
Designed by Alex Whitcroft and overseen by the Common House Design Team Jennifer Martin, Tony Sirna, and Tony Barrett, this building is designed to meet DR's stringent ecological covenants and additionally will acheive the following building certifications:
- LEED Platinum - LEED Platinum is the highest certification offered for new construction by the LEED certification system.
- Living Building Challenge - LBC defines the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment possible today and acts to diminish the gap between current limits and ideal solutions.
