THISTLEDOWN
Completion Date: 7-23-2012
Located within Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage, this D2R Building Addition project turns a small earth-bermed green home into an ample, light-filled, elegant modern structure with combined uses for present and future.
Currently utilized as a home, this addition provides a third bedroom, additional living and dining space, and integrated storage for a family of five. Within ten years, this building is intended to be turned into a brewery and pub, and will function as a key social meeting place for people of the community.
Planning for the future, while accommodating for the family's present needs, was a key element of the design process for this project.
